Working with the homeless population, this is such a needed service! We are often at a stand still on how to obtain personal care services for our women clients. Even if we can provide the funds for a service, finding a salon that is available and comfortable is a huge obstacle.

Oh how I love this story! I love that God moved people during the pandemic to love and serve others, all according to His will. I am inspired by DeDe's obedience of using her God-given talents and following His calling.

When I walked in to Beauty Bridge Salon for the first time yesterday, I immediately felt at ease and welcomed. It's so bright! DeDe has decorated it with gentleness, surprise and freshness. It's a small salon that feels spacious. It's in a village and you see people out and about - a cafe across the street, a barber shop, professional offices… No need to describe the unwelcoming edginess of prior salons I”ve known. This was a peaceful oasis. And of course, DeDe is an extremely talented craftsperson. An artist all around. Can't wait for my return in 4 weeks!!!

When can I start!?

Making a Difference

I was so excited for this idea! My first thought was, "When can I start!?" As a hair dresser, I have a talent and skill set that uplifts women every day. I have often wanted to give back to my community, and being able to volunteer my time at a Beauty Bridge Salon will be the perfect pairing!

The training was very thorough, and orientation was a breeze. I feel confident that my time volunteering at Beauty Bridge will be valued by the clients that I will work with. Watching her face light up in the mirror when she saw her new hair style was worth every minute! I'm so happy to be making a difference!
